Publicly available competitions are regularly created. If one isn’t available then check back soon as one may be starting for the following round.
Different competitions work on different Competition Groups. One competition might be for the Premier League only, whereas one may feature the entire Football League, or the just the top 2 tiers.
You join a competition to play for points, and in some cases, prizes. If different prizes are available, the competition will be split into sub-competitions, of which you can only enter one.
Public competitions do not cost points to enter, but the number of points you have may restrict which of the prizes you can play for.
Sometimes multiple prizes are available for a sub-competition, meaning multiple winners.

Private Leagues are not open to the general public. They can be created by anyone, and you can only join if invited via email or by visiting the unique link provided by the league chairman.
Private Leagues may cost points to enter which is at the discretion of the league chairman. Any points taken as an entrance fee are given to the winner as a prize pot, or distributed amongst the losing finalists.
Creating and playing in Private Leagues gives you entries to the free prize draws. For qualification details, see Prize Draws below.

Throughout the season we are giving away some fantastic prizes in our prize draws.
To qualify for prize draws play against your friends in private leagues.
Each player will get 1 entry into the open prize draw(s) for each selection they make in a qualifying private league.
Each player will get 5 entries into the open prize draw(s) for each qualifying private league they create.
Each player will get 10 entries into the open prize draw(s) for each new user they introduce to the site using their unique code.
For a private league to qualify, it must have 5 or more entrants making at least 1 selection each.

You can only select the same team once in a given competition. If you are in two competitions you may select the same team in both competitions.
Once you have selected all of the teams available for a competition your ‘selection rollover’ is set and you can pick any team again.
If a round does not contain all of the teams in a competition, but you have already selected all of those available, then your ‘selection rollover’ is brought forward and you are allowed to pick any team again.
Some competitions have an insurance bet. If you’re not confident of a win, use your insurance bet and if the result finishes as a draw you are still through. Be careful though, once you use your insurance bet it is gone for that competition, whether you rely on it or not.

You can join a competition up until the last game in the round kicks off.
You need to make your selection before the last game in the round kicks off, but you may only pick from games which are yet to kick off.
You may change your selection at any point up until the first game in the round has kicked off. Once a selection is made and the first game in the game round kicks off then the selection is ‘locked in’.
If you fail to make a selection you will be eliminated from the competition.
If the last game of a round is postponed or cancelled, then the deadline will be brought forward to align with the kick off time of the game which precedes it.
All deadlines for Private Leagues are the same as for Public Competitions.
Any changes to these deadlines due to kick off times changing are beyond the control of The Special One.

Results will be processed after the end of a round and you will be notified once complete.
The result of a match is taken at full time (excluding extra time or penalties).
You will progress to the next round if:
- The team you selected wins their match
- The team you selected wins or draws their match and you used your insurance bet
- The team you selected has their match postponed
- The team you selected has their match abandoned in the first half
In the event of a match being abandoned in the second half, the score will stand and the above rules will apply.
You will receive points equivalent to the percentage of other entrants you beat in a public competition. These will be awarded on a round by round basis.

Survive until the number of remaining entrants is less than or equal to the number of prizes available to win.
Sometimes competitions have multiple prizes. If there are 5 prizes in a competition and 6 competitors, the competition continues. As soon as there are 5 or less the competition finishes and all remaining entrants become competition winners.
If there are no winners then the prizes will be reused in future competitions.
If there are no winners in a private league with a ‘points prize pot’ (the points taken as an entrance fee), then these points are distributed amongst losing finalists.
Once a Prize is won it must be claimed by confirming your postal address before it is dispatched.

If a competition is ongoing at the end of a football season, it will roll over into the next season.
